Despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wild Cats Brazil continues working towards the conservation of small Neotropical felids. 
Project leader, Dr. Tadeu Gomes de Oliveira has given two webinars focusing on conservation issues affecting the small cats. He has also given a small cat identification course in collaboration with the Centro Ecopedagógico Simón I. Patiño in Bolivia.
The first webinar on 06/18/2020 was about conservation and it was addressed to Maranhão State Environmental Secretariat.
The second webinar on 6/19/2020 dealt with the northern tiger cat in its main stronghold, Mirador State Park. Dr. de Oliveira spoke about the
threats faced by the species, and what conditions the park must have in order to ensure long-term survival of the species.
The interactive course about small felid identification happened on June 25th and 26th. With over 80 participants from all over Latin America, the course was a success, with participants praising the organization and structure. We hope to resume field work activities soon, and continue working in situ on behalf of the small cats.
